Mariano GACTO (PT, PhD) is the Director of the UB-UdG Interuniversity Degree in Physiotherapy. He is also Head of the Department of Physical Therapy in EUSES – University of Girona (Campus of Salt, Girona).
He served professionally as a Physiotherapist for the Spanish and French Public Healthcare Services during six years. Academically, he graduated in Physical Therapy in the University of Murcia; he obtained an MSc in Evidence-Based Physiotherapy in Barcelona, and received his PhD with honors in Healthcare Quality Management in the University of Murcia. He also holds the lecturer Accreditation delivered by ANECA.
He has been lecturer in different PT-based subjects in EUSES, and has also developed Coordination competences prior to assuming the Direction of the Degrees.
His research areas of main interest are Healthcare Quality, Geriatrics and Psychometrics. He has published several papers in journals with high IF (Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, PLOS ONE, Medicine…); he has also participated in different International Congresses and is a board reviewer in JCR-indexed journals in the field of Public Health.
