The Degree in International Physiotherapy, a degree covering all the latest in e-health thanks to the synergies with ENTI-UB, Harvard Medical School and EUSES-UdG

The Degree in International Physiotherapy, from the School of New Interactive Technologies (Escola de Noves Tecnologies Interactives – ENTI-UB) and the University School of Health and Sport (Escola Universitària de la Salut i l’Esport – EUSES-UdG), is the only course in English that blends physiotherapy and the new technologies. Precisely thanks to the presence of ENTI-UB, the Video Games University, you will obtain training that is a pioneer in new technologies. I.e. you will learn to develop assessment tools based on physiotherapy, apply new technological advances, implement Serious Games and gamification as useful tools in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of an injury, and even create new apps or software that will improve the patients’ daily lives. You will therefore gain an in-depth knowledge of e-health and health 2.0. Without a doubt, the new technologies are essential for making the current health systems more efficient and sustainable. Therefore these studies will focus on learning healthcare ICT.

Moreover, in the course of this Degree you will learn about everything related to games applied to health, thanks to its link with the 3rd Course in Serious Games for Health & Sport from the Harvard Medical School. You will therefore tackle aspects like the impact of Serious Games for Health on the health system and primary health care, using these types of games in the diagnosis or monitoring of treatments. An example is the implementation of virtual games such as the Wii Fit Platform, which has succeeded in changing the perception of the work done on ankle or knee joint injuries, making treatment more comfortable for patients, and at the same time creating greater adherence and therefore a more sustained and better result.

Nor should we forget the close relationship with EUSES-UdG, the University of Health and Sport, a centre whose main objective is maintaining the excellence and the quality of its studies, while ensuring the training and the future of its students. This collaboration provides the Degree in International Physiotherapy with quality knowledge, with a sound and constantly updated scientific basis. EUSES offers both the Degree in Physiotherapy and the Degree in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport. It is therefore a university centre with a consolidated academic and research history in the field of health and sport.

In short, the synergies between ENTI-UB, Harvard Medical School and EUSES-UdG make it possible to share teaching staff, learning techniques and methodologies, establishing rewarding networks of contact between the lecturers and the students. All told, in the Degree in International Physiotherapy you will learn how to new tools of health 2.0 and you will have the ability to add quality to the health care service and create new resources. Prepare for your future in the best way at the Campus of the UB.
